I had been practicing the original piano solo for many years and discovered this version. While it makes some passages much easier to play, some of the simpler passages (at least for me) prove more difficult. I've cut and pasted between the two versions to make the impossible passages performable while keeping most of the original to get the full sound that's so incredible when you play it right. Maybe if I had only ever seen this version, I'd think it was more amazing.Product details

Being simplified version, and subscribing to the view that simplified versions should not be used at all, but originals should be attacked only when the pianst has achieved the required degree of readiness, I cannot recommend this one.
Additionally, there are substantive errors in the translation leading to a possible misunderstanding of the piece. Secondly, since there is not much simplification here to begin with, it makes sense to just purchase the original version edited by Hinson also an Alfred work and also available on at this time.
What a quality piece of music. It's the perfect song for when you want to play the piano for fifteen consecutive minutes.
I really like how this arrangement captures the bulk of Gershwin's original. The changes often are very minimal--sometimes just assigning notes to a hand and incorporating finger cue numbers.
