It's also hampered by the anachronistic reinterpretation of modality in Grecian terms (a Renaissance conceit).If anything, its value is in establishing a connection from Jan van Helmont through Ericius Puteamus and Athanasius Kircher to Vincenzo Galileo which speaks volumes not the overt domain of music, but in that of science and the birth of modern esotericism.
